Lomako | Nicholas
P. Lomako is a Senior Vice President of Wade-Trim, the company employed by Milford
Township for the Planning and Zoning Commission. Nick has been with Wade-Trim
since 1982. He is a member of the company's Board of Directors, and is a major
stockholder of the firm. Nick also serves as President of Municipal Systems Consulting,
a subsidiary firm established this year devoted to governance research, innovations,
and solutions. Mr. Lomako has 23 years of professional community planning
consulting experience. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Urban Planning
from Michigan State University and a Master of Public Administration degree from
Wayne State University where he was a Graduate Professional Scholarship Award
recipient. He is a nationally certified professional by the American Institute
of Certified Planners (AICP) and a state registered Professional Community Planner
(PCP). Nick has served as a guest lecturer or topic facilitator for
the Michigan Township's Association, Michigan Municipal League, Michigan Society
of Planning officials, Michigan Municipal Finance Officers Association, the Michigan
Chapter of the American Planning Association, the Michigan Chapter of the American
Society of Landscape Architects, county planning agencies, the Partnership for
the Saginaw Bay Watershed, and Southeast Michigan Council of Governments. He has
lectured on corridor planning, zoning ordinance development and standards, capital
improvements financing, strategic planning, Board of Zoning Appeals procedures,
mobile home park development and regulation, public participation and on running
effective meetings. Mr. Lomako, in companion with an out-of-state consultant,
developed training materials for community master planning. Similarly, he, along
with the assistance of a Michigan-based law firm, developed training materials
for the regulation of high-impact land uses. Mr. Lomako also conducted statewide
training programs on these topics. His work experience includes positions
as a transportation planner and associate for community development with other
Detroit-based consulting firms. Mr. Lomako's areas of expertise include community
redevelopment planning, comprehensive planning, land development code preparation,
Community Development Block Grand (CDBG) program administration, and commercial
revitalization. He has also been an expert witness, conducted client training
seminars on economic development, and land use planning and zoning, and served
as a facilitator at strategic planning and urban design charrette sessions.
Nick is currently providing planning consulting assistance to a variety of
Michigan communities. His current assignments include the Master Plan Update for
Grand Rapids, Brownfield Plan for the City of Davison, Zoning Ordinance.
Update for Redford, and the U.S. 24 Corridor Redevelopment Plan for Telegraph
Tomorrow, Inc., in Western Wayne County.
