Supervisor Green called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. in the Village Offices.

POLICE DEPARTMENT BUDGET 2006/2007

Ms. Jacques reported that the fund balance is in good shape. She said the projected fund balance as of December 31, 2006 was approximately 27.9%. Included in that amount is approximately $120,000 in tax revenue that is being disputed by Detroit Edison and MichCon; the statewide lawsuit has been ongoing since 1997.

Chief Walli reviewed the proposed budget (on file at the Village Office). He said he planned to hire a new office in Nov. or Dec. 2006. He said at least three vehicles will need to be replaced in the coming budget year and, additionally, equipment such as radios and computers may also need to be replaced.

Civic Center signage was included in his budget, but that has been deleted, as there was enough money in this fiscal year for the sign.

No changes were made to the proposed Police Department budget.

Treasurer Dagenhardt moved, Clerk Schwartz seconded, to accept the 2006/2006 Police Department budget as presented (without $2,000 for signage). Vote unanimously carried.
