Chairman Arrowsmith called the meeting to order at 7:04 p.m.
It was determined that a quorum was present.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Commissioner Mazzara moved,

CORRESPONDENCE
Chairman Arrowsmith noted that a $100.00 donation was received from Willoway Day Camp for the joint fall picnic. He thanked them for their contribution.

FALL PICNIC PLANNING
Commissioner Mazzara stated that volunteers are needed to help make the picnic event a success.
The Commission discussed funds needed for the event. Commissioner Mazzara hoped that the Township, Village and Downtown Development Authority (DDA) would each contribute $1,000.00.
Commissioner Mazzara moved,
Secretary Terian seconded to request that the Township Board expend $1,000.00
for the 2006 Community Picnic to be held on Saturday, October 14, 2006. Vote
unanimously carried.
The need for a banner to advertise the Community Picnic was discussed. Commissioner Wolfe described the details of the banner, which would be designed to allow different dates to be used. The cost of the banner would be approximately $325.00.
Commissioner Mazzara moved,
Commissioner Nasholm seconded to recommend to Township Board the purchase of a
banner with the Community Picnic information on it in the amount of $325.00. Vote
unanimously carried.
PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION
MASTER PLAN REVIEW, “ACTION PROGRAM” SECTION, PAGES 47-54 AND PROPOSED NEW

The Commissioners discussed revisions to the Action Program at length, which were written in a copy of the Master Plan by the recording secretary to be referenced when the plan is updated.

No update was given, but it was noted that volunteers are needed for the all-day skate event to be held on Saturday, September 23, 2006.

Chairman Arrowsmith stated that five commissioners participated in the event, which was a big success and was held on Sunday, September 17, 2006.

Chairman Arrowsmith postponed this item until the December meeting.

COMMISSIONER’S COMMENTS
There were no comments from the Commissioners.
NEXT MEETING
Wednesday, October 4, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. in the Milford Police Department Conference Room.
Chairman Arrowsmith noted that the next meeting would be a joint meeting with the Milford Village Parks & Recreation Commission. He said the regularly scheduled meeting of October 16, 2006 was canceled and the next meeting would be held on Monday, December 4, 2006.
