Chairman Arrowsmith called the meeting to order at 7:04 p.m.
It was determined that a quorum was present.
APPROVAL, LETTER OF SUPPORT –
Commisssioner Mazzara moved,
Commissioner Schwartz seconded to provide a letter of support for the village
grant application to the MNRTF. Vote unanimously carried.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES – FEBRUARY 21, 2006
Vice-Chairman Drury moved,
Commissioner Mazzara seconded to approve the minutes of February 21, 2006 as
presented. Vote unanimously carried.
CORRESPONDENCE
Chairman Arrowsmith stated that information and an application were received from Oakland County Parks outlining their Community Assistance Program and mobile recreation units that are available for rent this year. Commissioner Mazzara and Mr. Serchak felt the units could be used for the joint picnics slated for this year.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS
MILFORD RECREATION TRAIL
Commissioner Mazzara noted that the trail grant application has been re-submitted with a joint operating agreement between the township and the Huron Clinton Metropolitan Authority (HCMA).

The Commission discussed the Village trail connection, getting letters of support for the grant application from the township’s State Representative, Mr. Chris Ward and State Senator Mrs. Nancy Cassis, and the timeline for a response from the MNRTF.

Mr. Serchak announced that their March, 2006 meeting had no quorum to conduct business, however a presentation was given for a mountain bike trail proposed for Hubbell Pond Park by a local mountain bike organization.

COMMISSION VACANCY
Vice-Chairman Drury noted that he advised two people interested in the vacancy to contact Supervisor Green, but apparently nothing has come of it.
NEW BUSINESS
NEW LETTERHEAD AND EMAIL
Mrs. Brandt announced that Parks & Recreation letterhead paper was created and an email address was set up for the Commission. The email address is parksandrec@milfordtownship.com.
PARKS & RECREATION MASTER PLAN UPDATE
The Commissioners discussed reviewing the Master Plan and agreed to add it to next month’s agenda. They also discussed when an update would be necessary and determined that they would begin the update process in January, 2007.

Chairman Arrowsmith encouraged the Commissioners to explore other websites in an effort to put together a layout for their web page.
An informational letter from Mr. Doug Klingensmith, director, Huron Valley Running Club, to Supervisor Green, which thanked the Board for their donation and commented on the signage to be used for this year’s Labor Day 30K Race was briefly discussed.
