COMMISSIONER’S COMMENTS

Chairman Drury presented a flier for the Knights of Columbus Free Throw Contest to be held Saturday, January 28, 2006 from 12:00 – 3:00 p.m. at the Carls Family YMCA.

Commissioner Mazzara commented that the Township Board may be interested in purchasing a portable movie screen for use at Parks & Recreation events.  It was decided that the Commission would get additional information regarding types and costs and approach the Village and/or the Downtown Development Authority (DDA) to share the cost.

Commissioner Mazzara commented that the Planning Commission is currently working on an update to the Master Plan.   He said a regional plan that would include the village and township has been stalled due to cost issues. He commented briefly on the zoning of South Milford, which is an area of concern.

Commissioner Terian noted that Holly Brandt, Deputy Clerk, will be responsible for keeping the volunteer list updated.

The Commissioners discussed their thoughts on the proposed Peters Road by-pass issue that the Milford Village Council has been involved in.  They agreed that they were against the use of park land for any purpose other than its intended use.  They also discussed a possible land conservancy for Hubbell Pond Park.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:10 p.m.
