UNFINISHED BUSINESS
The Commissioners discussed the letter from Deborah Apostol, Unit Supervisor of Recreational Grants, Department of Natural Resources (DNR), dated November 21, 2005, which stated that the grant application (#05-045) submitted by the township has been determined as ineligible for consideration under the Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund (MNRTF) program. Ms. Apostol’s letter also iterated that supplemental information provided by the township did not sufficiently indicate that the township has adequate control over the area of the metropark in which the trail is to be developed.
They also discussed the response letter to Ms. Apostol from Supervisor Green, dated November 30, 2005, that outlined how the township had addressed the concern of adequate control by drafting an outline of key terms and proposed agreement between Milford Township, Milford Village and the Huron Clinton Metropolitan Authority (HCMA) and easement agreements from those entities to the township.
The Commissioners discussed how the millage is tied to the obtaining of grants and hoped that a positive response would be received from the MNRTF. Chairman Drury suggested that state legislators be contacted regarding this matter.

He said the details are still being worked out and the organization is hoping to get area municipalities to recognize or officially designate that week as Skate Board Awareness Week. Mr. Mueller said some of the events being planned for the week are a silent auction and dinner at Baker’s, a raffle and a culmination of a year long donation commitment from participating families. He thanked the Commission for their involvement and stated that the group needs more volunteers to help meet their goals for 2006.
Chairman Drury stated that he would be accepting orders for shirts with their logo until Monday, December 12, 2006.
